2005

Renault R26

In 2005 and 2006, Renault F1 Team rose to the peak of Formula One, securing back-to-back Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships. Led by the talented Fernando Alonso and guided by team principal Flavio Briatore, Renault ended the long-standing dominance of Scuderia Ferrari and Michael Schumacher.

In 2005, Alonso became the youngest World Champion at the time, delivering a season of consistency and tactical brilliance with the Renault R25. The team combined strong aerodynamics, a reliable engine, and excellent race strategy to outperform rivals, while teammate Giancarlo Fisichella contributed valuable points.

The 2006 season proved even more intense, with Renault facing a fierce title battle against Ferrari and Schumacher. Alonso maintained composure under pressure, securing crucial victories and podiums to clinch his second consecutive championship at the season finale in 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix. Renault also retained the Constructors’ title, cementing their status as the dominant team of the mid-2000s and marking one of the most successful eras in their Formula One history.
